Vorva named NCHA Player of the Year

Hunter Vorva

KIIH would like to congratulate Hunter Vorva on earning Player of the Year for the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association! Vorva is a Junior goalie for the NCAA Division III Marian Sabres and a long-time client of KIIH. Hunter has been a key role in leading the Sabres to the Harris Cup Semi Finals for the fourth straight year.

Hunter transferred to Marian last season from River Falls and has proven himself within the newly found team finishing second in shutouts at the NCAA DIII level that helped lead Marian to a 20-8-1 overall record. With such a great year Vorva helped Marian with the NCHA’s first-ever bid into the NCAA Tournament.

Vorva has had a stand-up year for Marian with finishing first in both goals-against average (1.55) and save percentage (.945) in NCHA league play. Vorva is also currently ranked seventh in the nation with a .937 save percentage and 13th in the country with his 1.84 goals-against average at the NCAA Division III level.

Not only did Vorva earn NCHA Player of the Year but also earned back to back Defensive Player of the Week and named to the NCHA All-Conference Team.

We could not be any prouder to call Hunter apart of the KIH family and the success he has found at the NCAA level. Congrats Hunter and keep up the great work!
